Module Learning Strategies
Lectures will provide knowledge and guidance and will incorporate student activities where possible. Tutorial sessions will allow discussions of related topics.

Normally one lectures, two tutorial session (25 students) per week. In addition students will be given independent learning tasks which build upon the lecture and tutorial material, the results of which will form the assessed report.

Module Indicative Content
An example of topics which may be covered are as follows: time management and motivation, careers and c.v. production, Professional Bodies, ethics and computing legislation, choosing an appropriate academic project, research techniques including library skills, development methods for computing projects, project scheduling, risk management and quality planning, report writing and presentation techniques.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A reflective portfolio report of 3,500 words which will include professional development planning - 50%. Learning outcome 1.

A researched project proposa 3,000 wordsl with an appropriate plan and a presentation of 6 minutes - 50%. Learning outcome 2.
