Module Learning Strategies
48 lectures and 24 practical sessions. This module requires students to develop skills of critical evaluation, personal reflection and analysis and to familiarise themselves with current issues in computing in a global context. The module will use a problem based learning approach centred on a virtual company, supported by real world case studies and prescribed reading and practical exercises. Concepts will be introduced in lectures and developed and expanded through practicals and independent study, supported by formative assessment.

Assessment 1. Individual Professional Portfolio weighted at 50% (learning outcomes 1, 2 & 4.)
Assessment 2. 2 hour examination weighted at 50% (learning outcomes 1 & 3 ) Final assessment.
