Module Learning Strategies
The style of the module is based on a series of on-line worksheets that present material, refer you to internal and external references and guide you in further study. You will be expected to follow these references and others of your own to build on the body of knowledge presented in the worksheets. You will build up an on-line portfolio as you proceed. Electronic learning strategies will be used extensively.
The 6 hours contact time will typically include provision of on-line, telephone and email support as necessary.

IT strategy development (using e.g. Earl's Strategic Grid, Earl's three pronged approach)
Implementing, managing and controlling IT systems.
Sourcing and outsourcing
Legal issues, risk management, ethical issues
Collaborative systems
Module Additional Assessment Details
There are two assessments
A portfolio of weekly tasks (50%) submitted on-line assessing learning outcomes 1 and 3
A report (50%, 3,000 words) evaluating a given case study scenario with recommendations for an IS strategy to underpin the business strategy assessing learning outcome 2 (final)
