Module Learning Strategies
A mix of lectures, practical sessions and seminars totalling 3 hours per week. This module requires students to develop skills of critical evaluation, personal reflection and analysis and to familiarise themselves with current issues in computing in a global context. The module will use a problem based learning approach centred on a virtual company, supported by real world case studies and prescribed reading and practical exercises. Concepts will be introduced in lectures and developed and expanded through practicals and independent study, supported by formative assessment.

Assessment 1. INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO AND POSTER weighted at 30% covering learning outcomes 1, 2 & 4.

Assessment 2. CLASS TEST (30%) 1 hour - covering learning outcome 1

Assessment 3. A Project Management Report (2500 words approx.) based on a GROUP PROJECT with an INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION on team work (500 words) weighted at 40% and covering learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
