Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
Group sessions will introduce the subject area and outline the area of investigation. Approximately 12 students will join each group with a specialist supervisor being assigned to each group.

4 x 2 hour preliminary lectures
Group and individual feedback workshops - 2 hours per group per week x 6
Presentations - approximately 4 hours per group

276 hours of independent study
Additional tutorials may be arranged if necessary.
Module Indicative Content
This will consist of independent research in pursuance of investigating the topic chosen for the project using appropriate research methods. Students will be referred to recent publications and appropriate learning resources to complete the investigation. They will be expected to investigate and evaluate social, legal and ethical implications of the IT technology, problem or solution they research. Relevant commercial aspects will also be considered. An analysis of where mathematical principles and computational modelling are used or are necessary for the area of study will be undertaken.

100% assignment consisting of:-
5,000 word research report - Learning Outcome 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6
15 minute presentation - Learning Outcome 2
