ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Research Portfolio – The portfolio will investigate cloud adoption issues and evaluate cloud services. There will be formative review points in its development, and a single summative submission at the end (Learning Outcomes 1 and 2).
Artefact Demonstration – This will involve the analysis, design, evaluation, and subsequent demonstration to justify a created cloud based design artefact for an enterprise scenario (Learning Outcomes 3 and 4).
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1.RESEARCH AND EVALUATE ISSUES WHICH AFFECT CLOUD ADOPTION WITHIN AN ORGANISATION.

Analysis, Knowledge and Understanding

2.INVESTIGATE AND CRITICALLY EVALUATE HOW CLOUD SERVICES CAN BE USED TO ENHANCE AN ORGANISATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE.

Knowledge and Understanding, Enquiry

3.IMPLEMENT A CLOUD BASED INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A GIVEN SCENARIO WHICH WILL AID AN SME TO IMPROVE ITS BUSINESS PERFORMANCE AS PART OF A TEAM.

Application

4.CRITICALLY EVALUATE NEW APPROACHES IN CLOUD SERVICES AND EVALUATE THE BENEFITS AND THE RISKS WITHIN A COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
In this module we will use a seminar type teaching method. We will have sessions which will be divided up into a lecture with accompanying practical work. This gives the student the chance during the session to listen to discussions and then to try this technology out and to then contribute to the rest of the session with observations.

WEB DESCRIPTOR
Cloud Computing is an area of increasing importance within the enterprise environment. This module will help you look at the usage of Cloud Computing and use Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a base for the practical work. Within this module you will look at the usage cases of the different aspects of this technology and learn to understand the impact of decisions which are made. As a part of this course you will be learning how to use the Amazon Web Services cloud environment as a member of the AWS Academy program. As a student on this module you will also be studying towards your AWS Certified Solutions Architect industry certification, should you wish to pursue this.
