Assignment: 100% consisting of a portfolio of practical exercises which will assess learning outcomes 1-4.
Module Indicative Content
Overview of main object-oriented terms, ie. class, method, attribute, object, inheritance
Introduction to a suitable programming environment
Concepts of the .NET framework
Designing and implementing object-based applications
Defining classes and creating instances from those classes
Basic graphics using co-ordinate systems
Control structures for selection and iteration
Graphical User Interface components such as buttons, text boxes, option buttons
Module Learning Strategies
There will be 12 lectures covering the theoretical issues of Visual Basic.NET.
There will be 24 practical sessions providing opportunities to implement theoretical issues.
There will be 12 whole group surgery sessions.
Independent study will involve reading course material prior to lectures and attempting exercises to demonstrate new theoretical topics.
