Module Learning Strategies
3 hours per week made up of 2 hours of lectures and 1 hour of practical work. In addition the student will be expected to carry oput self-directed study of the issues which have been discussed in the lecture and practical work (1:n)2 (1:20)1
Module Indicative Content
This module introduces Mobile and wireless communications giving the student a basic knowledge of the different technologies which are available to the consumer. This understanding will be from the point of view of computer based communications. The content to be covered in the module will include:
- Cellular communications and infrastructure
- Personal Area Networks (PAN)
- Local Area Networks (LAN)
- Mobile device design considerations
- Usage of mobile devices in a business and personal context
- Ubiquitous computing
