A range of books, subject-specific periodicals and journals, newspaper and other related articles, as well as texts relating to the design process and the promotion of design relevant to your course of study should be employed as negotiated with the module manager - together with any subject-specific visual, audio or audio-visual evidence to support your work.

100% coursework
coursework includes a number of negotiated and aggregated components encompassing learning outcomes 1-4.
a) A log-book of
+ highlighted contextual research, including any user interviews and feedback,
+ digital experiments and investigations of key technological features.
+ Annotations on researched contextual material and on screen-grabs of digital work noting your progress and assess your success in matching user and market requirements.
+ meeting notes showing your commitment and ability to work with others and to get required outcomes from your colleagues
(approx 40%) Learning outcomes 1 and 2.
b) A final detailed proposal for a solution(s) that shows
+ you understand the constraints and criteria of the project
+ you have integrated your research into the design process
+ you have found innovative and imaginative solutions to the client's brief
+ good use of your own and your teams understanding and skill to define the final proposal
(approx 40%) 5,000 words maximum, learning outcome 3.
c) A short individual report or presentation on your personal strengths and weaknesses in relation to the assessment (approx 20%) 3,000 words maximum, learning outcomes 1 and 3.

Module Learning Strategies
The learning activity centres on analysing and researching a design brief and developing and refining your solutions.
1) Investigation of a design brief and its narrow and larger context.
2) Attending and participating in lectures, seminars and events covering;
3) Participation in initial and interim seminars to monitor progress and understanding and background development as presented in your own and other log-files
This module will be delivered as a one hour lecture, one hour tutorial and one hour workshop. (1:n) (1:25)2
