Module Learning Strategies
The study requirements for this module will be outlined in a series of lectures. Problems and exercises presented in tutorial sessions will be debated or require researching. You will be asked to collaborate with your peers to accumulate information and debate its relevance to a given problem. Practical demonstrations or exercises will be used to supplement the lectures. The normal balance will be one-hour lecture and two hours tutorial per week.

Module Indicative Content
1. Study the nature of networking
2. Understand the issues with mobile networking
3. Review appropriate mobile tools and techniques
4. Research the multimedia issues of future mobile technology
5. Identify the operating systems alternatives and impact
6. Develop a suitable PDA client/server application
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% in-course assessment to develop a personal digital assistant application and a 3,000 word written report, assessing learning outcomes 1-4.
