The material will be presented through a combination of lectures, tutorials, practical exercises and self-study as appropriate for each topic. Delivery will be 1 lecture and 2 practicals/tutorials per week.

Module Indicative Content
This module covers advanced knowledge and principles of Mobile Computer Systems regarded as architecture, topology, standards, infrastructure of hardware and software components, which are designed to provide the implementation platform and commercial application of mobile computer systems, and in particular will cover:

- Protocols and International / European standards for Mobile Computing
- Mobile Computer interface, storage, architecture, organisation and traffic performance parameters
- Structure and function of fundamental system software, e.g. interface, operation systems and language processors or mobile computing
- Software platform to simulate and Model Mobile Computer Systems
- Future Generations of Mobile Computer Systems
- Testing and verification of mobile systems
Module Additional Assessment Details
A coursework weighted at 100% consisting of:-

Group presentation (50%) of a research paper (1500 words) assessing learning outcomes 1 and 4.
Practical assignment (50%) assessing learning outcomes 2, 3 and 4.
