Module Additional Assessment Details
Class test 1 hour 30% assessing learning outcomes 1, 3 and 4.
Assignment 70%. Develop an interactive multimedia system, typically 30MB per person that requires you to use of a variety of specified media creation, editing and authoring tools assessing learning outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Module Indicative Content
Sound and image capture.
Sound image and video editing
Linking and embedding graphics, sound and video into applications.
Introduction to HCI - Use of colour, typography, icons, basic design rules, user interfaces etc.
Design principles including storyboarding, navigation techniques
Storage issues
Uses of multimedia in commercial and entertainment environment.
Module Learning Strategies
Lectures will provide students with a broad overview of the indicative content and demonstrations of good practice in a variety of topics. Learning support material will be provided. The practical nature of the module is covered by practical tutorials each week.
Normally one hour lecture, two hour practical.
