Module Special Admissions Requirements
In studying this subject you will gain knowledge in web standards and building web pages that are suitable for their purpose. You will specifically gain an insight into the role of web standards bodies such as W3C. You will find that the module provides you with theoretical knowledge, as well as design skills and experience for implementing with up to date technologies.
Module Learning Strategies
24 hr Lectures, 48 hrs tutorials, 24 hrs workshops

The weekly lecture will supply the underlying knowledge for the module, supported by the 2 hour weekly tutorial. This will be facilitated with booklets, course texts, and the Internet. The 1 hour workshop will be split between extra sessions / tutorial time.


Module Additional Assessment Details
Assessment 1 - Assignment - Series of in-class tests (of 45 minutes) on mark-up/theory, CSS and course concepts (worth 40%) Learning Outcomes 3, and 4.

Assessment 2 (worth 60%) - Staged assignment in the design, creation and testing of a web-based portfolio, showing evidence of your skills in web design and development:

- A design / planning presentation showing your designs, their rationale, and evidence of your basic scripting skills

- Creation of a final site and testing documents, considering feedback from your design, and expanding the evidence of your skills in web design and development. Learning Outcomes 1-5. Final.
