Module Additional Assessment Details
100% Coursework approximately 5,000 words plus prototype assessing learning outcomes 1-4.
Students will carry out an evaluation, use a development method to produce an interface prototype and then justify their design decisions based upon HCI theory. They will then use appropriate evaluation instruments to critically appraise their design.
Module Indicative Content
An example of topics which may be covered are as follows:
HCI Overview, user/job profiles and characteristics, learning and remembering, task analysis and specification, evaluation tools and techniques, visualisation, interaction styles, design standards, ergonomic and environmental aspects, prototyping tools, hypermedia.
Module Learning Strategies
Lectures will provide knowledge and guidance with regard to HCI issues.
Tutorial and practical sessions will allow more in-depth focus on related issues and will allow individual feedback to be given on the prototype development.

Normally one lecture, two tutorial\practical sessions per week.
