Contact time will be through 1 weekly lecture and 1 weekly tutorial. Your independent learning is supported by freely available learning material available through a BLC environment.

Module Learning Outcome
1. Design and implement a usable Internet application for use on multiple browsers, including conenction to a well-designed database and using server and client side scripting
2. Design and implement appropriate web content for a mobile device
3. Discuss the technical and ethical issues in designing interactive web applications
4. Discuss web usability concepts and their application in interactive web site design, including page, site and content design
5. Discuss current methods for separating content from design in web applications, and their impact in the future
This module will also give you opportunity to demonstrate the following skills:

Introduction to advanced client side scripting languages such as HTML, XHTML, Javascript and CSS
Current server side scripting languages such as ASP
Web Database connectivity
Methods of web page design such as Denim / Silk

Design and implementation of web sites for different devices and browsers
Managing Content
Introduction to XML, XSLT and WML
Web audiences and web applications
Introduction to servers and security
