Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
The lecture will support the two lab sessions. The lab sessions will support the underlying knowledge and skills required to complete the module, and will be facilitated with booklets, course texts, and the internet. Within the lab sessions the students will learn new and emerging technologies, focus on media resource creation, learn advanced scripting, and the process of design and evaluation. Group discussions will also take place in these sessions. (1:n) (1:20)2

- Scalable Vector Graphics - production and practice
- Synchronised Multimedia Integration Language - production and practice
- Streaming Media - setup and reasoning
- Live Broadcast
- Web Accessibility
- Advanced scripting for web multimedia - Action Script
- Multi-user distributed multimedia
- Podcasts
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% assignment assessing Learning Outcomes 1 to 4.
- A practical artefact, being a high multimedia content web site. It is likely that the artefact will be based on a rich media case study, such as a online Travel Agents with dynamic pages, rich content to display locations and multiple examples of detailed scripting.
- A 5000 word report to support the created web site.
