The first assignment will involve research into current mobile design, design for different mobile devices, and evaluation of the differences between the design approaches (LO 1,3,5)
The second assignment will involve implementing and testing a mobile web application following current guidelines. (LO 1,2,4,5)
Module Learning Strategies
There will be a 2 hours lab-based session each week some of which will include lectures to support the underlying knowledge and skills required to complete the module, and will be facilitated with booklets, course texts, and the Internet. At other times there will be a combination of practical skills and demonstrations. Group discussions will also take place in these sessions.

If you are interested in designing web pages for mobile devices this is the module for you as it focuses on web application design specifically for the mobile area. You will design mobile web sites and create applications for mobile devices. The main emphasis will be on learning the key aspects of an interface / application to design for and then specifically following accepted and emerging principles / frameworks to devise novel solutions for devices such as smartphone, tablet or hybrid device.
