Module Learning Strategies
There will be a 2 hours lab-based session each week some of which will include lectures to support the underlying knowledge and skills required to complete the module, and will be facilitated with booklets, course texts, and the Internet. At other times there will be a combination of practical skills and demonstrations. Group discussions will also take place in these sessions.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Assignment 1 - Individual Research and Design Presentation - Students will carry out research into current and emerging topic areas of web design with results presented in a 20 minute presentation showing research and design suggestions (Learning Outcomes 2, 3 and 4). (50%)
Assignment 2 - Practical Implementation - Students will use their research and designs from assignment one, to implement, and critically reflect on the development of a web application that effectively addresses different target audiences (Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 5). (50%)

In studying this module, you will be introduced to the major design components of web pages at present as well as getting a clear insight into future design issues and problems web designers will face. The module looks at current trends, research and uses of web applications. It also looks at the latest trends and methods for web design.
