Module Additional Assessment Details
Creation of a practical artefact supported by a report of 2000 words. The artefact is likely to be CD and DVD based and consist of 20 screens. As an example it could be to develop an application to go on a magazine to promote a movie. By designing for CD and DVD you will work to different specifications and formats to produce different solutions.

Module Indicative Content
Students will look at all elements of multimedia for CD or DVD. This will include the following:
- Media Creation and Editing - video, animation, sound, graphics (2D and 3D)
- Media Design
- Legal and social Issues of Media Creation
- Multimedia application types
- Media delivery techniques - DVD creation, CD creation
Module Learning Strategies
The lecture will support the two lab sessions. The lab sessions will support the underlying knowledge and skills required to complete the module, and will be facilitated with booklets, and Internet references. Within the lab sessions you will have the opportunity to learn and specialise your skills in media design and editing. You will also focus on building strong development skills through a series of tutorials. Apart from learning software you will also use advanced equipment for media capture and editing. Group discussions will also take place in the sessions.
