Module Details
Module Indicative Content
Students will look at all elements of advanced multimedia for CD or DVD. This will include the following:

- Advanced multimedia for CD, DVD, and kiosks
- Multimedia databases
- Advanced scripting for multimedia environments
- Multimedia applications and their resources
- Further 3D for multimedia
- Virtual Reality
- Multimedia Learning
- Further Multimedia Methods
Module Learning Strategies
The lectures will support the two lab sessions. The lab sessions will support the underlying knowledge and skills required to complete the module, and will be facilitated with booklets, and Internet references. Within the lab sessions you will investigate areas of research related to multimedia, undertake case studies, go through coding and scripting tutorials, experiment with Virtual Reality equipment, learn to use numerous software, and undertake multimedia evaluations. Group discussions will also take place in the sessions.

Module Additional Assessment Details
The coursework will consist of creating a practical artefact and documenting this with a report of 2500 words. The practical artefact will involve the development of an application in the region of 20 pages. The application could be based on training, education, or advertising as examples, and is likely to include database content. The application will need to show good design and implementation of multimedia.
