Module Indicative Content
The nature of Electronic Commerce (E-Commerce) both technically and strategically; models of E-Commerce; legislation and applications to support E-Commerce activity.
Evaluation of the infrastructure technologies such as the Internet, interactive television, digital cash and wireless communications/mobile technology.
Examination of the security of on-line shopping including payment technologies.
Module Learning Strategies
Lecture material will capture topical issues and best practice case studies (one hour per week).
The practical nature of the module is emphasised by the provision of practical tutorial sessions each week (2 hours)
Using the capabilities of a browser on the Internet, students will learn how to develop and implement E-Commerce from a server and client side perspective.
Applications for supporting electronic commerce.
Will be learnt using tutorials based on a suitable E-Commerce package to E-Commerce enable an existing web site.
