Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates a number of inter-related learning strategies. These include:

1. Workshop sessions that include: (18 hours)
a. Tutor input, lectures and structured discussion which will give students an overview of the requirements of the module and the key theories and concepts relating to Commissioning.
b. Student led presentations relating to issues associated with commissioning.
c. Workshop time related to commissioning. The aim of the workshop time will be to share experiences and identify best practice, explore solutions to commissioning problems and identify personal learning.

2. Individual tutorials for discussion and formative feedback on assessments. ( 2 hours)

3. The independent study hours will allow for reading and research in relation to the module as well as reflection on their experience and practice of commissioning. (130 hours)

Module Additional Assessment Details
1. An individual Presentation
This will be on an aspect of commissioning. [500 words, 30%, Assessing Learning Outcomes 1- 4]

2. A Learning Diary
The diary will identify issues related to commissioning and apply these to personal practice and the core skills required to be effective within an organisation commissioning or being commissioned. [2000 words, 70%, Assessing Learning Outcomes 1-4]

Meaning of commissioning;
Policy setting;
Context of multiagency working between, public, private and third sector organisations;
Different stakeholder perspectives on the commissioning process;
Competencies required for effective commissioning;
Commissioning processes;
Commissioning standards;
Case studies of local experiences.
