Module Details
Module Indicative Content
Day 1: The Context of Regeneration: an investigation into the changing policy context of regeneration in the UK, and an examination of some examples from abroad.

Day 2: Regeneration Strategy: explores different approaches to regeneration, including comprehensive (such as the Olympics) mixed use (such as Gun Wharf in Portsmouth) and incremental (infill), with reference to master-planning and procurement.

Day 3: Collaboration and Community Involvement: an examination of different collaborative contexts, structures and processes and their implications for regeneration management, and an exploration of the significance of community involvement in regeneration.

Module Additional Assessment Details
Individual Presentation 30% equivalent to 1000 words - assesses learning outcomes 1-4

Case Study 70% equivalent to 1500 words - assesses learning outcomes 1-4
Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates three inter-related learning strategies. The three day-long workshops will be used for the consideration of core issues and themes relating to Regeneration (18 hours). The tutorials will allow discussion of the individual research students are undertaking to prepare their assignments (2 hours). The independent study will allow reading around selected topics, the development of individual responses to the reading and the preparation for the assessments (130 hours).
