Module Details
Module Additional Assessment Details
An IND PRESENTAT weighted at 25% equivalent to 1000 words.
The individual poster presentation will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to reflect critically on your experience of a practical participatory arts project in relation to an aspect of your professional practice and will reflect Learning Outcomes 1 and 4.

A PORTFOLIO weighted at 75%, 3000 words
The portfolio (3000 words) will require you to critically reflect on your experiences of undertaking a participatory arts project and to consider how this relates to factors affecting your professional practice. The portfolio will require you to provide evidence of (1) the planning process, (2) the delivery of the project, (3) your evaluation of the project and (4) critical reflection (in the form of an essay @ 1500 words) on the learning you have undertaken through the project. The portfolio will assess Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4.
Module Indicative Content
This module is based primarily on independent study and placement work. It provides students with the opportunity to apply their learning from the Certificate level to a practical setting. Students will have the opportunity to plan, undertake, and evaluate a longer-term practical participatory arts project in a community-based setting. The module will include an introduction to key aspects of professional practice affecting the delivery of community and participatory arts.
Module Resources
Library, where you will find relevant textbooks, journals and audio-visual materials.
Internet, where you will find relevant websites.
Community placements for longer-term participatory arts projects.
The Blackboard virtual learning environment will be available (where relevant) to support this module. Details will be supplied in the module handbook.

Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates three inter-related learning strategies. Tutor- led workshops will be used for the consideration of professional practice issues and review key tools and techniques relating to developing your own participatory arts project. Local community arts practitioners and community arts organisations will be involved in the delivery of the workshops. The tutorials will allow discussion of the individual projects and portfolios that students are undertaking. The independent study will allow the development and implementation of a longer-term participatory arts project and the completion of the portfolio.
