MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1.Effectively apply and evaluate research methods and employ appropriate decision-making in a significant self-directed, independent research enquiry/project.
2. Effectively evaluate and critically analyse methodologies and techniques, including knowledge of the conventions and practice of a specialist subject in a presentational context.

MODULE ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
1. The Contextual Presentation will deliver the outcomes of the contextual and theoretical research into an appropriate area, or areas of connectedness, for the application of the student's own practice, via a verbal and visual presentation to staff and students. (LO: 1, 4) The research folder will evidence the underpinning contextual and theoretical research. (LO: 3)
2. The Critically Reflective Report will provide evidence of the students individual connected activity, or activities, articulating the choices made and analysing outcomes in relation to the contextual and theoretical resources. (LO: 1, 2, 3)
MODULE INDICATIVE CONTENT
You will be introduced to key theoretical and contextual contexts and discourses related to connectedness.
Sessions will centre on effective presentational skills, research methods and critical reflection.
WEB DESCRIPTOR
Connected Practices allows you to understand the breadth of dimensions in which contemporary practitioners and their practices ‘connect’ with other practices, practitioners, critical discourse, audiences and networks. You will explore the potential for your own connectedness, which could include collaboration or co-production/co-authorship, related to professional or artistic contexts and assist in the development of skills, methods, idea generation and audience development.

The module will be formed around independent contextual and theoretical research and supported by teaching and learning sessions focused on debate, knowledge exchange, critical discourse and appropriate methodologies and research frameworks.
