A) A group presentation, equivalent to 1500 words (60%) Learning Outcomes 1 and 4
B) Individual reflective assignment (1000 words) (40%) Learning Outcomes 2 and 3
Module Indicative Content
This module will provide an introduction to the content and use of the Bible in Christian Ministry. The purpose of the module is to provide a grounding and overview of the biblical story (meta-narrative), appreciation of the different literary genres within the bible and an introduction to models of biblical interpretation. In addition, the module will how scripture is used within faith communities. This will enhance capacity to develop a critical self-awareness in personal and public use of the Bible.
Module Learning Strategies
150 hours, of which 10 will be interactive lectures, group work, seminars and blended learning and the rest independent study including ministry context based work. Contact time will involve a combination of group activities, discussion, reflection, student led work, group presentations, discussion etc. Additional material to guide personal study will be provided through the MyCYM VLE.
