Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates several inter-related learning strategies. The interactive learning groups will provide lectures and seminars involving a combination of group activities, student led work, simulations, skills practice, discussion etc. The independent study provides opportunity for reading, library based and online research. 20 hours of the learning hours in this module are practice based to help develop your professional skills, these are not part of the contact hours for the module.
Module Indicative Content
This module will introduce you to the key principles of work with young people and communities, particularly empowerment, equal opportunities, participation and informal education. You will understand and be able to apply safeguarding and other good practice principles to your work. You will understand what supervision is and how it is used in your context. You will identify and apply theological principles relevant to work with young people and communities.
