Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates several inter-related learning strategies. The interactive learning groups will provide lectures and seminars involving a combination of group activities, student led work, simulations, skills practice, discussion etc. The independent study provides opportunity for reading, library based and online research. The remote learning in the professional practice work place will help develop professional skills.
Module Indicative Content
This Module will provide an introduction to the Christian story as presented in the Bible for the purpose of developing critical self-awareness and an understanding of the appropriate place of faith within a variety of professional practice contexts. It will consider:
The application of biblical world views to professional practice
Overview of the biblical story
Approaches to biblical interpretation
Key practice values
The impact of worldview/value base on professional practice.
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% Coursework : Essay (3000 words or equivalent)
Analyse a particular section of scriptural text with reference to its literary form and relationship to the biblical text as a whole and discuss the way in which it informs your practice.
