Module Indicative Content
This module explores models of pastoral care in a range of contexts and considers the role of pastoral care in community based pioneer ministry and mission. As well as developing understanding of key underpinning theoretical and theological frameworks students will be encouraged to engage in developing listening, communication and pastoral skills and consider issues such as empathy, referrals, prayer and self-care in relation to pastoral ministry.
Module Learning Strategies
150 hours, of which 10 will be interactive lectures, group work, seminars and blended learning and the rest independent study including ministry context based work. Interactive lectures will involve a combination of teaching input, group activities, listening activities, role play, skills practice, case studies and discussion. Additional material to guide personal study will be provided through the MyCYM VLE.
