Module Indicative Content
This module will enable students to develop and demonstrate their understanding of playwork and contextualize it into their ministerial context. Students develop an integrated practice that is informed by their understanding and creative application of the Playwork Principles, their application of the GRACE Foundations for Ministry and their working within the National Occupational Standards for Playwork.
Students develop skills in using play as an approach to ministry with children and families, designing and managing play spaces, and developing play spaces that support healthy child development.
Students will gain skills as a reflective and theologically reflective practitioner and demonstrate theological engagement with children and family work practice.
Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates several inter-related learning strategies. The interactive learning groups will provide lectures and seminars involving a combination of group activities, student led work, simulations, skills practice, discussion etc. The independent study provides opportunity for reading, library based and online research. The remote learning in the professional practice work place will help develop professional skills.
