Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates several inter-related learning strategies. The interactive learning groups will provide lectures and seminars involving a combination of group activities, student led work, simulations, skills practice, discussion etc. The independent study provides opportunity for reading, library based and online research. The remote learning in the professional practice work place will help develop professional skills.
Module Indicative Content
This module aims to prepare students for employment in professional and ministry contexts. It builds on previous skill based modules which have also developed leadership skills and equips students to provide leadership in a range of professional and ministry contexts. It explores providing support and spiritual development to other workers, ministerial skills and sustaining oneself spiritually and vocational and professional development.
This module builds on the student's experience and will include teaching on:
-Leadership skills
-Personal and corporate vision building and developing a strategic plan
-Theological and theoretical and biblical frameworks of ministry and leadership
-Preparation for employment including continuing professional development needs and discerning vocation
-Supporting and facilitating professional, spiritual and faith development
-Ministerial skills appropriate to context
-Sustainable professional practice including managing your own resources
Module Additional Assessment Details
40% Practical task: Assessment of a substantial piece of practical leadership/ministry skill to be negotiated and agreed in advance with the module tutor, e.g preaching, leading a cell group, leading a service, chairing an annual meeting, facilitating a vision building day. Assessment to be done by line manager or equivalent plus one participant and a self assessment completed using the same form.

60% Assignment, one of:
1. Assess the role and function of personal spirituality and vision in leadership, exploring a range of theories and theological frameworks. Illustrate this from your practice and relate to your personal leadership style and vision.

2. Create a personal statement reflecting your vision, vocation, values and leadership style in respect of your aspirations for long term ministry and critically evaluate the theoretical and theological frameworks on which this is based.
