Module Indicative Content
This module explores the understanding and skills required for reflective and effective professional practice and continuing personal and professional development, including a broader understanding of the social policy context. Students will be continuing the practice of reflective theology, making biblical and spiritual links with practice and theory as a professional reflex. The module will seek to appropriately contextualise personal and professional development preparing students to self manage their future learning needs as qualified workers. It will consolidate consistent professional practice as well as forming a professional identity and vocation. All this will be shaped by the identification of the key political ideologies that impact upon community work and groups, an examination of the social and political context of the work and exercising personal reflection upon professional values.
Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates several inter-related learning strategies. The interactive learning groups will provide lectures and seminars involving a combination of group activities, student led work, simulations, skills practice, discussion etc. The independent study provides opportunity for reading, library based and online research. The remote learning in the professional practice work place will help develop professional skills.
