Outline a pastoral issue within your placement and using a theological and theoretical framework propose and justify a plan for intervention, comparing similiarities and differences between this and secular care practices.

Module Indicative Content
This module will enable students to discuss pastoral theology including theories of human development and faith development and the application of these theories in pastoral care situations. It will seek to develop the understanding and skills required for the role of pastoral carer. It will examine and critique pastoral models drawn from counselling and psychology. It will include other models of working with young people such as advocate, advisor, guide and counsellor as a basis from which their understanding of pastoral care can develop.

Module Learning Strategies
This module incorporates several inter-related learning strategies. The interactive learning groups will provide lectures and seminars involving a combination of group activities, student led work, simulations, skills practice, discussion etc. The independent study provides opportunity for reading, library based and online research. The remote learning in the professional practice work place will help develop professional skills.
