This module will look at concepts and constructs of justice. It will explore issues of justice and injustice, including policy responses to justice issues. Theoretical and theological frameworks will be evaluated. The module will engage with how justice is understood and experienced, using case studies to demonstrate different perspectives. The application to current legal and policy issues will be explored eg youth and criminal justice system, school exclusion policies and age of responsibility.

This module incorporates several inter-related learning strategies. The interactive learning groups will provide lectures and seminars involving a combination of group activities, student led work, simulations, skills practice, discussion etc. The independent study provides opportunity for reading, library based and online research. The remote learning in the professional practice work place will help develop professional skills.
