INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module will equip students with the knowledge and understanding needed to support the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. Working in partnership is a key element of practice when supporting the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. The concepts of power sharing, consultation and joint ways of working are essential for effective service provision. Students will analyse how professionals need to understand the importance of promoting autonomy with individuals when supporting health and wellbeing. They also need to be aware of their own roles and responsibilities and how they relate to others within the sector.
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Presentation
LO1. Describe a range of factors which may impact on the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families.
LO2. Evaluate the problem solving techniques used by the health and social care sector support individuals with specific needs.
LO3. Evaluate approaches to intervention strategies that support individuals with specific needs.
The presentation requires you to describe a range of factors (both positive and negative) which may impact on the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (30 hours)
You will attend lectures on key topics. There will also be opportunities to participate in small groups to explore some of the key issues raised in lectures and undertake activities.
Guided Independent Study: (170 hours)
100 hours: Independent reading - You will be expected to read the recommended reading and utilise the learning materials which you will have full access to via Blackboard.
25 hours: Presentation development and preparation
45 hours: Case study assessment and analysis
