ASSESSMENT DETAILS
A PROJECT PORTFOLIO length 2000 WORDS weighted at 100%. Learning Outcomes 1-5.

The portfolio may include a creative project response to a theatre play and short screen and production analysis.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This creative and inspirational module is designed as an introduction to developing the key skills needed to study and analyse successfully theatre and screen at undergraduate level. It is an opportunity for you to develop academically, personally and professionally within the discipline. The module has been created to help you to improve and reflect upon your personal, critical and academic skills and to introduce you to the skills and demands of studying at Higher Education level. The emphasis is for you to take control and responsibility for your own progress, learning and research. The module will include an exploration of the following:
- directing and scenography for stage
- creative application in theatre and film
- an introduction to the theatre and film industries and how they operate.
- writing for stage and screen
- production analysis for a theatre piece
- screen analysis for a screen piece
- rise of Theatre on Screen (NT live)
- employability and industry skills discussion
LEARNING STRATEGIES
There will be whole group weekly workshops, individual tutorials and some group work/research. The project portfolio will consist of a critical and analytical exploration of theatre and moving image performance.

Drama Studios, Theatre visits, Blackboard, Library and online resources, TV/DVD playback facilities.
The Blackboard virtual learning environment will be available to support this module. Details will be supplied in the module handbook.
