Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module introduces students to the basic process of designing settings and props for the theatre. In the first semester students will be taught how to analysis a text and research the context of a play and how to communicate creative ideas using professional methods such as scale model-making.

In the second semester students will communicate their set design ideas and will be introduced to basic prop-making skills.

A portfolio presentation will typically include:
A script analysis, a studio model-box, a scale model of a stage setting, working drawings and a prop-making project.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Seminars and workshops will explain methods of research and script analysis and give practical training in scale-drawing, model-making basic prop-making and costume design.
Lectures will provide an understanding of the development of scenography.
