Module Learning Strategies
The student will engage closely with professional practices involved in either (a) one of the professional theatres in the Staffordshire region (e.g. New Vic, Regent Theatre) or (b) working closely with teachers in the formulation of teaching plans for Drama-related courses and in the practical application and use of these. The student will consider the issues and problems which arise in the particular profession and environment. A work experience report from the placement organisation will comprise formative assessment for the module.
Module Resources
IT Software (e.g. word processing)
Module Indicative Content
This module will allow students to work with professionals within the professional theatre, or in local schools. The placement is for 30 hours (approximately one half-day per week or equivalent by arrangement with the Placement Supervisor and/or the placement organisation) which will constitute the contact hours for the module. The particular work/research undertaken will be discussed and agreed between the Placement Supervisor, placement organisation and the student. This will ensure a programme of experience and training that maximises the benefits for all parties.
