Module Learning Strategies
Besides undertaking their agreed work, students will develop their learning from:
general relevant technical material; the experience of working to targets usually in a managed team; the preparation for and writing of a business project and a workplace reflective journal detailing personal development during the placement year.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Completion of 48 weeks of work for a company or organisation, and the completion of a business project which covers LO 1, 2 and 3 - 70%

Reflective Report of the Learning Journal identifying learning processes provided by the placement, qualities and skills used and developed by the experience. Reflective Report to be signed off by the company supervisor - covers LO4 - 30%
Module Indicative Content
To provide practical experience of working within and for an organisation.
To experience at first hand the practical application of some of the business theory and methods in Level 1 and 2.
To develop appropriate behavioural attitudies within the working environment.
To provide practical experience in the legal, social and ethical issues of working within an organisation.
To apply and further develop communication and decision making skills.

Module Special Admissions Requirements
Must be registered on a Faculty of Business & Law undergraduate award and must be eligible to proceed to the Industrial Placement period.
To progress to Placement you need at least 195 credits, including all required award specific Level 1 credits and at least 75 award specific credits at Level 2 or equivalent.
