Module Indicative Content
The analysis of the process of globalisation
Development of international financial and trade institutions (eg - WTO, IMF, World Bank) and the impact of these on company and consumer welfare.
Contemporary critiques of the international economic and financial systems. Analysis of the debt crisis. Assessment of poverty reduction programmes.

An assignment of no more than 2500 words - 100% (Tests Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3)
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment) of this there will be 30 hours of class support and 120 hours of independent and self directed study (18 hours of formal lectures and 12 hours of tutorials). Support will also be given by access to Scheduled Tutor Office Hours to support the module. Learning support materials will be provide by the module.
The module content will be presented using a mixture of staff delivery of material, directed reading in and out of class and short group problem-solving activities in class.
