(LO 3) (25%)

Formative Assessment:
This will take place throughout the module in the form of informal observations, questioning, discussion, group work and attendance monitoring. Group seminar discussions and paired activities will provide opportunities for students to gain verbal feedback from peers and module tutors. Regular feedback, from the module tutor and through the personal tutor system, will take place. Generic plans and the structure of the assignments will be reviewed at appropriate times throughout the module.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module will focus initially on exploring developing constructs of childhood in different societies to facilitate critical reflection on student’s own understandings and what has influenced them. It will continue to expand on concepts and issues introduced previously to allow for more breadth and depth of independent research and reading of topics related to individual’s interests and experiences. It will enable students to seek perspectives beyond their personal experiences and compare and contrast children’s life experiences in different societies. It is expected that the content and assessment of this module will provide appropriate professional and academic challenge to encourage and prepare students for progression after achieving their award.
