Working collaboratively with another student on the award, compare and contrast the behaviour management strategies and/or policies of two organisations (this may or may not include the student's current placement). Each member of the collaboration will need to write up their own account of the comparisons referring to theories of behaviour management. 1,500 words. (100%) (LOs 1,2, 3, 4)

Module Resources
The learning strategies will require students to commit 150 learning hours of which 30 hours will consist of contact time and 120 independent study hours.
The teaching strategies will employ a range of methods, including lectures, seminars, one to one tutorials, presentations and case study observations. Peer group discussion and the use of Blackboard will allow students to share ideas and experiences and will encourage reflection and evaluation.

Module Learning Strategies
In this module learners will receive input from tutors relating to key theories and principles of behaviour. Learners will be expected to compare and contrast organisational behaviour policies, as well as challenges they might face while supporting learning at all levels. Critical and professional discussions will help inform the learner of developments which learning practitioners might need to make to their practice.
Module Indicative Content
This module aims to develop the learner's ability to manage and develop positive behaviours in their learning environment. Topics to be covered include:
Theories and principles of behaviour
Characteristics of behaviour including social and emotional aspects of learning and their impact on behaviour
Developing behaviour policies
Behaviour management and enhancement
Appropriate and effective communication strategies in order to promote positive behaviour.
Connections between learning, behaviour, environment, culture, gender, ethnicity, disability & ethos of organisation
