Module Details
Indicative Content
The purpose of this module is to enable learners to understand theories, principles and applications of formal and informal assessment and feedback. It aims to develop their understanding of the role of assessment of and for learning which can be applied to the design and conduct of assessment in their professional practice.
Learning Strategies
During this module, learners will design, participate and peer-review assessments in order to help develop their understanding of key assessment principles in practice. Learners will also develop presentation and informal assessment skills in order to develop their professional communication skills.

Review key literature relating to theories and principles of assessment and feedback within your education sector. Review the role of assessment in informing accountability practices in education. (LOs 1&2) (Advisory word count 1500)

• Carry out a small-scale research investigation into an aspect of current assessment practice at your institution. Identify developments to assessment practice. (LO 3 & 4) (Advisory word count 1500)
