Module Details
Indicative Content
This module involves placement in an educational setting which, if possible, differs in age group and nature to that at level 4, to extend their skills in linking theory to practice. Students will build upon their experiences at level 4 and enable them to demonstrate practical skills and learning from the work based activities. Students will explore their role in the setting, relating these to their role as a professional and the implications for the learners.

Reflective evaluation and development of personal and professional development.

Using the learner voice in relation to self as observed during placement.

Assessment Details
Portfolio which will comprise of the following:
Section A weighted at 50% which will assess LO 1, 3, 4 and 5 Section B weighted at 50% which will assess LO1, 2, 4 and 4.

Additionally, as students are required to complete placement for this module a non weighted assessment ( 0%) for completion of the placement is also required
Both Sections must be passed.
Learning Strategies
This module is follows on from the work in Module 1 enabling continuing reflection on personal and professional development. Learners will have opportunity to demonstrate learning and reflection of personal continuing development, continuing workplace development and continuing workplace organisation understanding. Therefore the indicative content in this module will mostly be defined by learners, evaluation of their journey as a professional on this course. Learners will be guided on their summative assessment via face-to-face tutorials and electronic support. The supporting resource: Placement Review Document will be used to underpin their reflections however this will not constitute part of the assessment. The course VLE will be used extensively which will direct learner reflections upon their work based learning. This module is about learners taking responsibility for and presenting their personal and professional development as an education professional. The learning strategies will require students to commit 300 learning hours of which 36 hours will consist of contact time, placement attendance and independent study hours. The context in which will take place includes a one day per week placement in an appropriate alternative workplace for two semesters which has educational links providing learning support.
