Module Learning Strategies
The material will be introduced through a series of 12 hours lectures to introduce current issues facing schools based on a historical context.
Tutorials (6 hours) will allow students to reflect upon issues and research. Students will visit and observe good teaching practice in a school (1x6 hours). Appropriate clearance for working with young people would be required. Students would neither be in charge of a class, or on their own during their own during this observation session.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Coursework weighted at 100% divided into two parts: Part A: 50%, Part B: 50%:

Part A: 1500 word report providing proof of recognition of how different learning strategies can be applied to teaching whilst assessing Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3. This reflective activity may draw upon historical and current school practice.
Part B: Individual Presentation (15 mins) assessing Learning Outcomes1, 2 and 3 using appropriate presentation resources to communicate to a small audience of peers and staff. This will include the associated planning, delivery and evaluation of classroom practice and secondary research documentation.
