This module enables detailed and systematic examination of personal and professional development. This includes the final preparations of meeting the Teacher Standards and will be evidenced by the production of a detailed and well-structured portfolio, based on the experienced gained primarily within the final two years of the course.

Indicative Content
This module enables continuing examination of personal and professional development and continues to examine work ready skills. This includes the final preparations of meeting the Teacher Standards within the final portfolio.
The context in which this will take place includes a two day per week placement in an appropriate workplace which has educational links, for two semesters followed by four/five week placements.
Assessment Details
Coursework - Reference from placement weighted at 0%.
Coursework – Teacher Standards Portfolio (3000 words equivalent) weighted at 75%. Coursework - Critical Reflection (1000 words) weighted at 25%.
Summative Assessment
Task 1 A reference obtained from setting. (This assessment will be zero weighted, but candidates must acquire this in order to prove the placement was completed). (LO 1, 2 and 3). 0%
Task 2 A reflective and analytical account of one or two initiatives/activities/incidents observed in the placement which demonstrated a team working and professional approach, 3000 words. (LO 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). 75%
Task 3 - A critical reflection of personal development in relation to aspects of chosen professional standards, 1000 words. (LO 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). 25%
As part of the requirements of the module the reference is non compensatable.

All elements of assessment must be passed
Learning Strategies
The learning strategies will require students to commit 300 learning hours of which 36 hours will consist of contact time and 96 hours will be placement attendance with 162 of independent study hours.
The student will achieve the learning outcomes of the module mainly through remote learning in the work place setting. The student will need to complete placement paperwork and identify a work place mentor (class teacher) and tutor support will be by e-mail or telephone.
