INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module develops your understanding of how to improve your professional practice by conducting a small-scale practitioner led inquiry, using an education action research approach to research.
During the Action Research module, you will develop your ability to:
Create effective teaching resources
Respond to wider factors that influence learning programmes
Make evidence informed improvements to your teaching practice
Engage in small scale practitioner led inquiry using an action research methodology
Use technology enhanced learning
Communicate through presentations and preparation for published findings (English, maths and ICT).
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
A 20 minute presentation to justify proposed research (30%, LO1, LO2)
To enable a wider audience from outside the course group, this will be either delivered online or F2F streamed live.
Formative assessment
Reflect on feedback from your research proposal presentation. Justify changes to your project/methodology. Gain ethical approval for your project prior to commencing your research.
Assessment 2
You will complete a written research report of your implemented education action research project (abstract, literature review, methodology, data findings, analysis and recommendations) (5,000 words, 70%, LOs 3-6)
