Module Details
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% in-course assessment assessing Learning Outcomes 1-4.

Practical assignment based on implementing a number: 80% of automated measurement tasks using labview.
Reflective report summarizing the student's experience in: 20% carrying out the automation project.
Module Indicative Content
The students will learn how to use labview programming language in automating a range of measurement tasks. In addition to developing the required Labview programming skills in measurements automation, the following contents are to be addressed.

Signal Interference and Corruption (the problem of measurement, energy flow, input impedance EMI, RFI, coupling paths, screening, grounding, Electromagnetic compatibility)

Electronic Test Equipments (analogue and digital voltmeters, current, power, gain and phase measurement; frequency and period measurement; spectrum measurements.

Measurements of potential, current, flow strain, temperature and speed. Audio and video measurement.

Automated Test Equipment (PC Based and Virtual Instrumentation, remote measurements and alarm management over the INTERNET)
