PRINCIPLES OF ELECTRONIC PRODUCT MANUFACTURE
This module introduces the knowledge, understanding and skills required for the design, manufacture and testing of electronic products.
A mixture of lectures and practical sessions will be delivered.

Topics covered will include:

Design for manufacture using EDA tools
- Circuits design and simulation using Multisim
- Board Design and Layout using Ultiboard
- Board Manufacture using Design Pro
- Board Assembly techniques for SMT and THT components.

Thermal and Mechanical Considerations
- Heat Transfer and heatsinks
- Vibration testing
- Current ratings and protection.

Test equipment and techniques
- Manual and Automated test equipment
- Analogue circuit testing techniques
- Digital circuit testing techniques

PRINCIPLES OF ELECTRONIC PRODUCT MANUFACTURE
One individual coursework assignment of 3,000 words (based upon a practical manufacturing exercise) (100%) covering all the Learning Outcomes.
