1 x 2 hour examination (70%) which will assess Learning Outcomes 1 and 2.
A log book record and written report (approx 2000 words) based on laboratory work (30%) which will assess Learning Outcomes 3 and 4.

Information Theory, Entropy, coding, Channel capacity
Digital moduation and demodulation. Error probability and Signal-to-noise.
Synchronisation and error control coding.
Noise, Noise temperature, receiver noise performance.
Satellite system, path loss and link budget calculations.
Cellular systems, mobile radio.
